In addition to the primary professional staff listed below, CTI maintains affiliate relationships with other quality trial consulting firms throughout the U.S. As a result, whenever necessary for large or complex projects, we can quickly expand our professional availability, or we also can provide a highly experienced “local consultant” for particular venues.
John K. Reid, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with over twenty years experience in trial consulting and forensic psychology. John has special expertise in design and direction of mock trials, jury selection, and witness preparation. He has significant experience in products liability, medical malpractice/hospital, patent infringement, and mass tort litigation. He is a past President of the Texas Psychological Association, is on the Executive Committee of the Texas Supreme Court’s Jury Task Force, and is on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Trial Consultants.
Marcia L. Nichols, M.A., received her M.A. degree in psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio and is a licensed psychological associate. Marcia has completed the University of Texas at San Antonio paralegal certification program. She also has completed graduate study in sociology and in medical records administration. She has directed medical records departments and has held Top Secret security clearance. Marcia is experienced in evaluating critical factors in expert witnesses’ behavior, and in quantitative and qualitative analysis of mock trial data. She also is highly competent in post verdict interviewing and in conducting focus groups.
Josue Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist. He has been a professor with several universities at the graduate level and has directed consulting services throughout south central Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. He is bilingual and has conducted trial oriented focus groups both in Spanish and in English throughout the United States. He is particularly experienced in the areas of medical malpractice and in hospital litigation.
James Crawford, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and former long-time faculty member at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. He is highly competent in teaching imagery and relaxation techniques which have application in witness training and has an extensive understanding of decisional motivation and leadership in focus groups. He also has particular knowledge in the areas of nursing homes and in medical malpractice.
Marvin Abney, Ph.D., is a licensed counseling psychologist and has taught at several universities, including the United States Air Force Academy. He has taught post-graduate classes in psychological and decisional issues which pertain to African Americans and in forensic psychology. He is highly skilled in relaxation techniques of value in witness training. He also is particularly experienced with issues pertaining to personnel, sexual harassment and trauma, and he has testified before a U.S. Senate Subcommittee regarding sexual trauma.
